BIO

Born in Wayland, Iowa, Jay Morrow grew up in a rodeo family with a passion for riding bulls for as long as he can remember.  A sport enthusiast throughout high school, Morrow competed in track, baseball, football, wrestling and basketball; and was even offered a baseball scholarship but opted to concentrate on his rodeo career. “I idolized my dad growing up because of the man he is. He rode bulls and that’s what I wanted to do.  If I could be half the man he is I’d be in good shape,” said Morrow.

Graduating from Missouri Valley College in 2004 with an Associate’s degree in small business management and marketing, Morrow bought his PRCA card in 2004 and has never looked back. Successful on the college rodeo circuit, Morrow never slowed down winning multiple events throughout his rookie year on the pro circuit; including the PRCA Dodge Great Lakes Circuit Rookie of the Year title. Since then he has gone on to win numerous Champion titles and qualify for eight circuit finals.

Although Morrow has multiple titles under his belt, his career highlights include qualifying for the PBR Challenger Finals, College World Finals, CBR World Finals four times, PRCA Extreme Bulls three times, Dodge Circuit Finals twice, and representing the U.S.A. in New Zealand in International competition.  Not only did Morrow win the PRCA Rookie of the Year Great Lakes, he went on to win the circuit again in 2006 and 2008. “My most memorable would have to be winning the CBR televised event in Lubbock, Texas in 2008.”

Not only a fan favorite in the arena, Morrow has thousands of followers on social media and also models for print, TV and billboards, for many organizations, including NRS, Cinch, Osage Casino and Subway. Jay recently filmed a Survivor episode in the jungle of Panama for the Discovery Channel & co-hosted a morning talk show "True Cowboy Radio" live in Las Vegas @ the National Finals Rodeo.  “To be able to do what I love, enjoy every experience that comes my way, along with being a good role model for someone, then that’s living life the best way I know how."  There are only a few things I want out of life and that’s to be the best Christian person I can be, the best bull rider I can be and hopefully one day a great husband and dad as well.”

Making it a priority to compete back in his home state of Iowa as much as he can, one of Morrow’s favorite rodeos is Fort Madison, which is only 45 minutes from his home. When time permits, Morrow enjoys outdoor activities including; fly fishing, bow hunting for deer and elk, trapping, ice fishing, snow skiing, mountain hiking, boating, and camping.

“The will to win must outweigh the despair of defeat, regardless the opinion of others”
